✨LET'S TALK MENTAL HEATH.✨
          
          Hello, my little doves. I hope you're having a great start to 2023!
          
          Mine has been quite challenging, not gonna lie.
          
          Since the summer, I had to deal with my father's cancer coming back, my mother's heart failing and in the winter she spent a month at the hospital while dad was doing chemio. As I live in another country, taking care of them has been hard.
          On top of that, I've been sick a lot recently, including COVID and I've been struggling with exhaustion and mental burn out.
          
          I joined WP during the pandemic in 2020 and since then, I've been uploading consistently every week without miss. This past year has been harder, though and it took a toll on my writing. Still, I kept going, unable to stop because I never admit defeat.
          
          Last week a girlfriend of mine shook me by the shoulders and said, "Sky, you need to breathe. You're drowning."
          
          Was I? 
          
          It was so dark underwater that I just thought it was nighttime and the sun would rise soon. But when I broke the surface, I realised how wrong I was, and that I was starved of fresh oxygen and panting. I needed to breathe

           For those of you who are reading Don't Ask, Don't Tell, this means I've decided to take a break. I've always prided myself with putting out the best work possible and recently this hasn't been happening.
          I promise I WILL finish it. Call it fake OCD, but I simply can't have a project out that is incomplete. It will take a little longer than predicted, though.
          I have a chapter that's half-ready but nowhere near decent and being it a pivotal part, I want to get it right. 
          I would do a disservice to Rivers and Samuel if I decided to push out material just for the sake of not losing followers. I want to be able to work on the development and edit it with plenty of time before resuming. The story deserves this. You, my readers, deserve this.
          
          I'm doing my best to come back as soon as possible, but I don't want to give you a timeframe if I'm not sure I can honour it. I promise I will keep you updated!
          
          If you enjoy my writing, you can check out my other projects in the meantime. I have a chicklit romance, two spy thrillers, and a historical novel about the Vietnam War if you're feeling groovy. (I also have poetry, for my John Keats out there!)

Well, turned out I have Covid. No wonder I'm feeling so tired!
          
          Still, being stuck in the house gave me time to finish chapter 30 of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.  Go check it out!

Hello my lovelies,
          A quick announcement regarding Don't Ask, Don't Tell.
          
          A new chapter will be out tomorrow, then I'm going to take a Christmas break.
          I'm planning to upload another chapter before New Year's Eve to take off the blues of that century that seem to elapse between Boxing Day and the 31st.
          
          After that, I will resume with my usual schedule of two chapters per week.
