That’s just how I think you should start

Ok so I have one way the continuing of the story could go. This is also a way of introducing midnight as a character. 
          ———————————————————————
          CONTINUE: as the night goes away Midnight slowly wakes from her slumber with the need for fresh air. As she opens the door she spots a book sitting on the ground but not just any book, a book about mating season. Thinking nothing of it Midnight walks back inside with the book and places it on her table after putting the book down Midnight walks back outside and looks around the village/town thinking about one thing. 
          
          “Who put that book on my doorstep”

          That’s how I think it should continue but it’s your book and you can decide whether or not you won’t to use it
