The Day We Got Lucky
Chapter 1
Anna has just arrived at the airport in Gibraltar. After an emotional farewell with her family she makes her way through to the departure lounge awaiting her flight to London Gatwick where Leah is waiting to take her back to her flat and new life in England. As she sits there she see’s a face from her past.
Anna’s P.O.V
Oh My God it’s Tony! The Wild man himself. I haven’t seen him since he came back to Gib to tell everyone about his engagement. Leah was distraught and cried over him for days.
Suddenly Tony calls out: “Hey! Anna. I haven’t seen you in ages, come over here we need to catch up!”
“Oh Hi,” I make my way across the departure lounge and sit down in the seat opposite Tony that he was gesturing to. “So… How’s things with Laura?”
“Great thanks. Actually… I have something for you.” He reaches into his bag and pulls out two ivory envelopes wrapped in baby blue ribbon. “Here is one for you and one for Leah they include a plus one. So how are things with you since Kevin?”
I take a deep breath trying to compose myself, even now three months after the split I still find it hard to talk about. “Fine, I haven’t really seen him since which I guess is good since he wasn’t who I thought he was. That’s why I’m hoping England will be a fresh new start.”
“Hmmm yeah the break up was a shame. So, what about Leah? I’ve barely heard from her since the engagement party, I was hoping to catch up with her for a drink before the wedding.”
“Leah is desperate as always hahaha but doing okay. I’m sure she would like to meet up with you.”
Beep! Beep!
I reach into my bag and check my phone to see a text from Leah displayed on the screen.
Hey, just checking to see if you were at the airport yet, have a safe flight
: ) .
“Haha, speak of the devil,” Tony says peering over at my phone just as they announce my flight.
I stand up to leave pocketing my phone to reply when I board the plane.
“Okay then great to see you again Tony. I’ll make sure Leah gets in touch with you soon. See you on the big day.”
“Yeah, great to see you too. Send Leah my love.”
I board the plane and realise I am seated next to a really fit guy; he’s no Dylan Sprayberry though. Quickly, I text Leah back before switching off my phone.
Just boarded the plane, I am sat next to a really hot guy. You’ll never guess who was at the airport… Tony… He sends his love and would like to meet up with you : )
