Story time!!!
So today in English we were talking about first, second and third wave feminism, and about how second and third wave feminism problems are still happening in todays society, and how third wave feminism isn't just about women's rights, but more LGBT+ rights, and some kid raised his hand and said
"well... I think that third wave has more problems that have already been fixed in society than second wave."
and I LITERALLY STOOD UP OUT OF SOME WAVE OF RANDOM CONFIDDENCE AND SAID
" Well, I would have to disagree with you, because though LGBT equality has been addressed, not everything is equal. people are still judged, and put down by the majority of society, and though same-sex marriage has been legalized in the US just recently, that does not mean that LGBT equality problems have been completely fixed."
and my hands were shaking for the rest of the class, I have NEVER stood up IN CLASS and spoken up for something I care about, and though it made me feel very confident, my face was beat red, and I felt like everyone was staring at me and I don't think I could ever do that again.
