@lovelyluddy They made a lot of unnecessary and imo, outright stupid changes to the entire movie. There was no reason why they needed to switch the names of so many characters, they removed some of the most important scenes in the entire book in favor of an irrelevant subplot, killed those who didn’t die originally, and you didn’t get to connect with these characters. The fight scenes are good,  the that’s about it for me

            the 2022 version is not very true to the book (but no movie adaptation of a book is EXACTLY like it's original, but why'd they get rid of Paul's leave n some other characters ☹️), but I still find it amazing. I enjoyed the 1979 version (even if it's "corny," supposedly, it was really good--and there's no music at all, so that adds to the atmosphere). Can't wait to finish the 1930 movie. And finally, I'm getting the original novel for Christmas.
            TL;DR--i agree, partially (I still really like the 2022 version)
