So I was organizing my reading lists, based on completion status-
          
          Complete: 9 fics
          Incomplete: 10 fics
          Hiatus/discontinued: 17 fics
          
          ...
          
          THIS IS WHY I HATE MY LIFE-

... so all my other fics get crickets, but Rendezvous has 1.2K+ views across Wattpad and Ao3, and people liked it enough to make a podfic for it and make a translation of it...
          
          I'm grateful for the attention, but... why? Why do people like Rendezvous so much? I remember having a lot of fun writing it, but looking back on it, it's one of the worst things I've ever written. The beginning dialogue makes me cringe, some of the scenes were- I think I've written better stuff when I was 12.
          
          Also, older me is finding it hard to understand why America would still date Russia after Russia called him ugly, and they were fighting constantly for like a year- I know the point of the story was that they were falling for each other through the video game, but- I don't know, it feels very much like the "bully romance" trope which I hate from the bottom of my heart. I find it really problematic and I'm honestly quite worried about younger people reading Rendezvous and thinking that's how relationships work. I mean, enemies to lovers is a whole thing, but the way I wrote Rendezvous, it seems like it was more that Russia gave America trauma. (That was very tangential, but it's also one of my biggest gripes with the fic.)
          
          So, like- why? Why do people seem to like it so much? I get why it has views- it has a lot of cliches that appeal to the wider CH community - but why do people like the fic so much to the point of making podfics and translations at 1K? From what I've seen, most fics don't reach this level of engagement until... at least 10K or more. Probably more. 
          
          I just feel like I need some answers. And it's not like I'm mad about Rendezvous being liked... I just don't understand it. The attention it gets is something most authors dream about, and I love it... sometimes I just stare at my other, higher quality fics in the corner collecting dust and wonder why nobody cares about them.

I had a flight that was supposed to leave three hours ago. Some software shit happened and now my flight is indefinitely delayed, along with like five others. Apparently this is a global issue. I don't know what's happening. My dad's demanding coffee. I might have to stay at a hotel overnight with no change of clothes. Best part is, I actually got on the flight, stayed on the plane for two hours while the flight attendants were freaking out, before they kicked us off the plane. At least I'm in an airport lounge and not at the fucking gate, which is crammed with probably at least 500 people w/ delayed flights. Jfc

Fuck this, the first day of a period is the worst. I'm cramping like hell and nothing's even coming out. At least on the second day the cramping counts for SOMETHING.
          
          And I'm going on a plane tomorrow but I haven't packed because I just want to stay in bed. Or maybe a hot bath. I need to do so much stuff but I'm literally in period paralysis. FML
