I’m so glad you liked my new chapter! I’m watching For Those In Peril now :)) Aaron is such a complex, tormented character :,) George carries that movie on his shoulders! What was your favorite part of my new chapter? I hope the descriptions of Emmy sinking down and drowning wasn’t too repetitive, but I wanted to show the terror of sinking and thinking that nobody was going to save her even though it was only a nightmare :,)

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream I thought maybe in the next couple of chapters of TWBH, Emmy could go visit Joseph’s house once she has his address and she meets his mother and is reunited with her best friend Lt Joe Blake! How do you think Joe would’ve described Emmy to his mother if he tells her about the girl he’s fallen for? How do you you think Mrs Blake would react to meeting the girl her oldest son loves?

@Snowdropsdream I just sent you the trailer for Fresh, since it’s on Disney+ if you don’t have Hulu. I know we originally agreed on Michael Fassbender playing Erik, but since I’ve seen Fresh, Sebastian Stan keeps coming to my mind…
Rispondi

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream That’s very true! Richard Madden is the only Prince Kit for me :)) Those blue eyes… The way he looks at Ella is the way I’ve imagined Joseph looking at Emmy, only his love for her must remain unspoken :,(
George would be flawless in about any other prince role or just fairytale hero … That one fateful kiss Will would give to Emmy to awaken her from the Sleeping Beauty spell would be brief but so full of gentleness and sensual touch :,) And under the canopy bed he so lovingly crafted for her… :,)

I’m so glad you liked my new chapter! And the chapter image of Emmy/Christine waking up in the velvet lined bed :)) If you look up the music video for Emmy Rossums song “Slow Me Down”, she’s so naturally gorgeous in it. I can totally picture her alongside George’s modernly handsome Davy in Sunshine on Leith :)) And you’re right about the similarities with Sebastian Stan and Richard Madden :)) Emmy probably wouldn’t want to be around Joseph as long as she was if he reminded her of Erik :,(

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 I loved your new chapter. I'm going to have a look at Slow Me Down.

I finally got to watch Lady Chatterleys Lover! It was so good! Boy oh boy, is Richard Madden fine with that rough man scruff. The scenes in the beginning with WW1 definitely helped me gain more inspiration with possibly another chapter soon! I thought the ending would be sadder since it showed Oliver coughing a lot, I thought he’d die by the end :,( Holliday Grainger is such a good actress, she deserves more attention. Funny to think she and Richard were also in Cinderella right after this one :)) So glad I watched it and can’t wait to watch again. Oliver Mellors is definitely a visual inspiration for future chapters with Joe Blake ;)

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 I think personally my dream role for George in a Disney film would be the Prince in either Sleeping Beauty or Snow White. Like you though, I also love the idea of him being a modern day hero in something like Enchanted, where he turns out to be a prince.
Rispondi

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream Yes, I read that in this new show, she’ll mainly be featured in flashbacks and Tom Hollands character will be played by a younger kid actor :))
Do you think George would make a good Hercules if they were ever to do a live action remake of the Disney movie? I’m sure I’ve asked this before, but would your dream role be for George in a Disney remake or even something original like Enchanted? :))
Rispondi

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 that's interesting that Emmy Rossum's going to play Tom Holland's mum. Also, I didn't realise Shameless she was in was the US version of Shameless in the UK. That was excellent, and I feel I want to watch The American version now.
I seriously cannot wait to read your next chapter. It sounds fascinating. I'm really glad you got a lift to work and are safe. X : )

Since the time traveling may make Emmy’s health more delicate, Will wouldn’t want to rush her into anything either… And the photo of her as a bride is dated to be December 24th 1918, so the wedding would be about a month and a half after the war ends in November. Possibly Emmy and Will would use birth control, possibly medication she would bring with her from 2020.
I’ve thought about a scenario where she explains to Will how her phone in the present can be used for many things other than calling people. She may show him how it can play songs without the actual instruments. Maybe some months after they marry or even their wedding night, Will might surprise Emmy by serenading her with a song from her era, having taught himself how to listen to the music from that strange device and learning some of the most romantic songs from her era :,)
          Or is that too weird?

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 I've not seen The Vow, but I liked The Time Travellers Wife. Oh, I can definitely see Rachel McAdams in a film with George or Richard. She's older than me I think, so it would prove there's hope for me with George, lol. Hehehe. Oh, I meant to ask, did you ever see him in a TV episode called Foreign Parts? It's from Neil Gaiman's Likely Stories.

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream Goodness! I hope you all stay safe. It’s a crazy time right now :)) My stepmom had an intruder in her home last year, thankfully he was caught and didn’t hurt her.
I’ve seen About Time and The Time Travelers Wife and The Vow, all with Rachel as the female lead :)) She’s so beautiful and dynamic… her in a film with Richard Madden or George would be epic!

@Mackaysgal92 the only other one I've seen was Message In A Bottle years ago. I've heard good things about A Walk To Remember. I love Rachel McAdams. Another of my favourite films she's in is About Time.
Something really frightening and strange has happened here today. My kids school is closed tomorrow as there's an armed seige in a home just down our road and right by their school. It's been going on for the past twelve hours at least. The road at the bottom of ours is cordoned off, but thankfully ours isn't. I'm hoping and praying it's resolved safely and peacefully soon and no-one gets hurt.

I’m glad you liked the new chapter! I wanted to include Will too, but I wasn’t sure where to fit him. Most likely the next one will be Will and Emmy being reunited :)) Overall, what was your favorite part of the chapter? I hope I’m not making Joe seem like a total cad…

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 that sounds so beautiful. I'm going to check that out.

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream I’ve thought about Emmy maybe singing to Will at their wedding. Either “I’ll Never Love Again” or “Is That Alright” both by Lady Gaga from A Star Is Born. In the extended version of that movie, there’s a scene where Ally sings “Is That Alright” to Jack at their wedding reception and it brings him to tears. It’s on YouTube if you haven’t seen that moment :,)

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 I agree about Joe. To be honest, I don't know how I could predict they'd react. Only if it was me as Emmy, I'd be overjoyed to become pregnant. In mine, Jane becomes pregnant in the March (Seren was conceived March 2012) of 1919, four months after she and Will are married. In the epilogue Jane states it happened quicker than they planned, but ensued a quicker return home as many soldiers and nurses had to stay behind for several months after the War ended treating the wounded that weren't well enough to travel home and sorting out other things.
Anyway, I think Will and Emmy would have that conversation quite early on about having children.
Rispondi

Mackaysgal92

That’s so awesome that you have kids! I’m the oldest of 5 sisters, but don’t have my own little ones. I probably won’t have kids. I’ve never even dated…
If you could possibly picture Emmy being able to return to 2020, how would it go? Should it be unexpected and sad, like before she has a chance to say goodbye to Will or Joe? How would Will be able to part with her after everything they’ve been through together….?

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 ooohhh, sounds great though. I'm sure I'll manage ok without beloved Will for a chapter.
Rispondi

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream I’ve got the next chapter written. Sadly, there’s no Will featured, it’s mainly a Joseph & Emmy chapter. I couldn’t find a way to fit Will or do a time jump without making it forced. I’m just trying to take time to develop their relationship since Will and Emmy have had many chapters to form their romance. I’ll post it later tonight once I’ve proofread it

@Mackaysgal92 sometimes though it's good to let things happen organically.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of love triangles when one person is portrayed as the baddie and it makes it easier to root for the other two e.g.Titanic. I think very rarely situations are like that in real life and so it also makes for more interesting characters when you don't have one as a villain as such. I honestly like how you've developed yours and the many facets of Will, Emmy and Joe.

Mackaysgal92

I know almost everyone is shipping Will and Emmy in this story and they all have favorite moments with them. I wonder if any moments stood out to you between Joe and Emmy? Their dynamic is a little harder to write because there’s not much to go off of with him in the movie despite Richards heartbreaking performance and I’m working to make him different from Schofield.

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 Yes, I really liked Gwen. I remember Sybil helps her find a job she really wants to do. I've never actually seen Game Of Thrones. That was weird and unexpected what happened with the character of Mathew. I didn't think itvwas necessary. Ivy was only in it for a couple of seasons. Two-four I think. She was a kitchen maid and Daisy was quite jealous of her to begin with. She was really sweet. I quite liked Cora and Daisy too, and of course Mrs Hughes. It took me a very long time to warm to Mary to be honest.
Outlander is something I would really love to see. It's actually a new years resolution of mine to watch it. Having two children, it's having the time, lol. I just feel I'd fall in love with it. I do love Scottish things anyway, romance, period dramas. Poldark is amazing. I think you'd really like it. It's set in 18th century Cornwall. It's quite fast-paced. A lot happened each season, which covered a year in the story, but the characters, storylines and scenery are just incredible.
I woke up so early this morning whilst it was still fully dark. I made myself a cup of tea and put the lights on the Chistmas tree and slowly watched it get light. I sometimes wish I was still small enough to curl up under the tree, lol. When my daughter was newborn, she'd often wake in the early hours and I'd take her downstairs for a checked and feed. I'd sit and watch it gradually get light, neighbours lights coming on, and it would be so peaceful. People couldn't see in, but I could see out well from sitying on the sofa. It's always been such a special memory. I can't believe she'll be 9 next week! My Son is 5 1/2.

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream I don’t remember Ivy, but I remember Gwen from Season 1, who was played by Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones :)) And the sudden death of Matthew Crawley at the end of season 3 made me quit the show for awhile before I finally finished it :,(
Rispondi

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream It’s been a few years since I’ve watched anything Downton Abbey. I remember liking Sybil, Anna and Mrs Hughes. It took me a few seasons to warm up to Cora and Rose. My favorites guys were Branson and Sir Robert Crawley :)) I haven’t watched Poldark, but my late friend did. Another show I mean to watch soon is Outlander, specially for inspiration for my story since it’s about a woman, WW2 combat nurse, who time travels to another era in the 1700s Scottish highlands…
Rispondi

Mackaysgal92

I just got out Wolf! First, the ending felt like it was too early. But George was so good at acting primal, but still having that gentleness that made us love him. He has his shirt off a lot too, he’s definitely well built without being too muscular ;) The acting from everyone was great, but the story was kinda slow in moving. It’s not a movie for a casual Friday night, I’d recommend a watch if you’re into art house films. I don’t think I’ll be re-watching this one like I would with Pride or 1917…

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 thanks. I agree, he'd ultimately want Emmy to be happy. Yes, we see so little of Joe in 1917 that his character is good to mould to how you would want him. I think he goes well as playing a David Budd character again.
Rispondi

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream That’s true about Joe. In my story, he’s more like Richard Maddens character in Bodyguard, David Budd where he may have a bit of a temper, but he would never harm Emmy. If it came to them being in a romantic relationship, but Emmy made her final decision not to be with him, Joe would rather see her happy on her own path than sad with him as her beau/fiancé/husband…
Rispondi

Snowdropsdream

@Mackaysgal92 yes, I liked the film with Emmy Rossum as Christine, and I also loved Jennifer Elison in that as her friend. I have to say I really did not like the Phantom though. He was so possessive and bitter. I think as well Joe is much nicer. I'd like to think perhaps Joe will accept Emmy and Will's love, and therefore let her go. I feel I'd want Joe to have a happy ending though. I gave him that in mine as it felt fitting for me to do so, but you must write what you feel is right in your heart. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Have you heard of the website, TV Tropes? It’s where you can describe all sorts of different tropes from movies, books, tv shows, fanfiction… I was wondering since you’re so familiar with my story, would you be able to do a trope summary for The Way Back Home? It’d be cool to see what kinds you spot such as “knight in shining armor, rescue romance, bridal carry,” etc

Mackaysgal92

@Snowdropsdream I watched 1917 again last night. It gets better with every viewing. I’m not surprised if women who saw this like me who doesn’t normally watch war movies fell for George, especially in the scene with Lauri and the baby. He’s so gentle and quiet with them. Also when he’s trying to get the caravan truck out of the mud…What are your favorite Schofield moments from the movie?

@Snowdropsdream Thanks so much! Since I’m not on social media, I’ve lost touch with friends I had before and a lot of them are married with kids. Luckily I have a big family and many younger sisters. I’m living with one of them now after our mom moved out of state. So I’m not totally alone
