@HRK_31 aw, darling There's nothing NOTHING wrong with helping someone with their work, if possible. You did it out of goodwill, and didn't feel embarrassed. The teachers, ironically, are setting a very bad example by saying that. If you didn't feel bad, don't let others bring you down with their words.
