I have one published novel (Olympus) and one unpublished (Transient Risk) and both of them end with cliffhanger promises of a sequel. For my earliest readers, it has been 25 years of waiting for me to keep that promise.

I finally have the books that will keep that promise. Here's the complete line-up. Now I just have to do a little more writing:

String Theory (draft complete; holding it until book 3 is done)
          	Paradigm Lost (in progress)
Climate Change (intersects with Transient Risk and its sequel)
Game Theory (intersects with Olympus and its sequel)
Destroyer of Worlds (climax of the 9 book series)
Fictional Science ("explainer" for the entire String Theory universe)

I just got notified you've started a new book "String Theory." I was never notified of "Transient Risk." It has been over three years, so I had given up on you. Where have you been?

@CFarley982 -- I've been posting one short chapter a day but I could pick up the pace if I had a dozen readers. Feel free to drum up an audience for me--I'll do one chapter a day for one reader, two for ten, three for a hundred... as I said, I've finished the draft already.

@CFarley982 -- I finished Transient Risk and started the sequel--and then realized I know NOTHING about serving a murder term in federal prison. Sort of killed the Muse for me.

So "String Theory" is hot. I've finished the very rough draft of Book 1 and have books 2-5 (completed arc) worked out in enough detail to know I'm really going to write the whole thing if the lights stay on for me.

Just finished the last chapter of “Transient Risk.” I have a ton of work ahead of me (plot holes, character development, chapter length, dialog tags, etc., etc.) but it is finally a story that isn’t going to be changing every time you turn around.

KnotANumber has a REALLY nice opening chapter to a hard sci-fi story. I’m jealous. But I’m willing to share with the rest of the children. It’s only one chapter, but it’s worth studying for style!

My very literate daughter read the start of my story. “Too dark! You have to make people LIKE your characters before you drag them through the knothole!”

So there’s a brand new chapter one. And, of course, yet another new title and cover. Because I talked to a publicist yesterday and we’re actually going to do this thing.

So—take a peek at Chapter One (brand new) of “Transient Risk” (brand new title, same work in progress) and tell me whether you think my daughter will be happy with my opening now.
