a small token of kindness (29th July 2021)
after the sun has sung enough to keep the morning alive and the dew has become a thing of the mystical side, it retreats from the blue but dying sky and sinks to the realm of the undressed.
there he- with his light divided and distributed and unadorned- inspires the moon that is watching the dreadful night unfold.
it is a thing of glory in itself and if at all we ever foolishly forget, there is never a moment without them.
the sun and the moon.
and the moon and the sun.
they may exchange secretive glows and the stars might draw around them a protective constellation, but they together are still not much apparent.
the stars all crowd and shine individually and create a hall of shine, as though they are happy that the world is asleep and their two favourites are free to themselves.
if the sun and the moon, can have a thing of love, then so can you. not with anybody else but with yourself and your life. and hold death closer this time. i have known it to be a friend, foe being merely the gruelling hands of time. the more you push it away, the less kinder you become to yourself.
but till you see life turn away from your eyes, you must be half the moon and half the king of stars.
