Against the advice of my friends, I’m going to throw my hat into this discourse. I’ve never been one who’s been able to sit back and be quiet, especially when it comes to people talking out of their butts with zero proof.
With that being said:
Publicly and shamelessly accusing people of using generative AI with zero proof of them actually using it isn’t cool and, personally, is a red flag for you as a person.
I’m sick of people running around here like giant bullies and throwing around accusations that damage other creators on Wattpad. You’re grown adults, and frankly, it’s made writing on this website miserable.
I’m truly very sorry that you have nothing better to worry about in your life (and how incredibly lucky for you that authors who use AI are such a big problem for you to focus on. Truly.)
But while you’re on this witch hunt and accusing others publicly (whether it’s sub-posting like this or naming them like you’ve done to me in the past), you’re making this website a horrid place. This used to be a place of escape for me. When I was struggling with mental health, health scares, loss, or grieving, I would come onto this site and escape that for the few hours I could write a chapter. Now, I barely log on anymore because it feels tainted. You’ve created a hostile environment. (Because I made a choice involving my work? Hello?)
You throw stones on here all the time. You reference our contest like it was some slap to you personally, and you literally named me in a post and talked poorly of me on a public forum when I was nothing but polite?
I’ve gone through one of the scariest times in my life recently. I’m still going through it. And one of my biggest escapes is no longer available to me because of the environment you created.
You and your friends are bullies at this point. Bottom line. Please reflect on your actions.
