My name is Sophie.
I aspire not to write you a story, but to tell you one. I want to make you think and I want you to make me feel, and then we'll swap. My writing isn't written to please me or you, but us. Our world isn't made up of my prose, but my prose is made up of our world. We'll share and we'll dance and we'll write, and then we'll try doing all three, all at once. I want to know you without knowing you. I don't need to know your favourite colour to know that your eyes tell stories and your fingers tap on your knee when you're bored or impatient. You know my name, but you also know that I wrote this, and that as of right now, you're reading this, and we are sharing something: words. What's more important than that?

I need you to understand that regardless of whether or not I write here regularly, or whether I decide to ramble or truly cut open my skin and reveal my soul, I will be here, even when I'm not. My writing will be sitting here, waiting for you, yes you, to read it. My face may not be beautiful, and perhaps neither is my writing, but what we are doing right now, communicating through you, the reader, and me, the writer, is more beautiful than any of that. I would like you to know that if you ever speak to me, we will speak in colours and shapes, but never sound, because you can only truly comprehend the beauty of words when they're written down. I want to see your voice and hear the colours in it.

Let's talk.
