The Promise tells the story of two people whose hearts never stopped loving, even when life had other plans.
As teenagers, Usagi and Seiya were inseparable. They loved each other deeply, promised each other forever, but shortly after, Seiya had to leave the city with his family and move to the other end of the country.
Years later, he returns to Tokyo as a successful CEO. On paper, his life is perfect: engaged, wealthy, respected. But when he unexpectedly runs into Usagi, all his old feelings come rushing back. He realizes that despite all the time that has passed, he still loves her.
Usagi’s life, however, is more complicated than it appears. She is caught in a long-standing on-again, off-again relationship, one she is no longer sure is love or simply habit. Yet she cannot fight what once existed between her and Seiya, and what might still be there.
As if the emotional chaos weren't enough, Minako, Usagi’s best friend, happens to be working as Seiya’s assistant. She suddenly finds herself in the crossfire, torn between loyalty, secrets, and long-buried promises.
