I have been writing on and off for almost a  year.  Mostly off.  I am setting some short term goals for myself, not around word count, but around time spend writing per week.  I am here to learn and hone my skill as a writer and editor.   Once I deem my skill at a level and have written enough that I think like-minded people would want to pay for and read I will pursue publishing but I do not have a timeline for when I will start to go down that road.  One thing I want to keep in mind is that I am writing for myself.   To modify a quote from Howard Roark in the Fountainhead, "I do not intend to write in order to have clients, I intend to have clients in order to write."
