@rhythmchyc I loved it as well as felt slightly horrified by it. I could totally see how downhill Nick and Katherine's relationship was going. I think you did a really good job of portraying that realistically by the way. Abusive reasonable relationships often stay off with little things like dictating who one's partner can be friends with and what their ringtone should be. And then there are the small, easily forgivable acts of violence. Then there are the unreasonable demands and expectations. It started small but pretty soon Katherine was so consumed with Nick that she was basically addicted to him and separation literally hospitalized her. That's terrifying power for one person to have over another, especially when it's (seemingly) uneven. Anyway, second book was one hell of a ride and I couldn't put it down once I got into it.
