@Relevance2025 yeah, i know what it feels like to be stuck in that spiral, and it's scary. If it looks like she doesn't want help, don't force it on her, just show her that yr there for her. Saying things like "you need help" are rarely helpful, so instead just quietly offer support. Then it's up to her, it's her choice, and it's not on you if she doesn't want it. 
            It's scary for both positions, I've been in both, and I hope you both stay safe and get any help you need.
            Only give me any details about her with her consent.
            There should be a free mental health helpline, for kids or adults depending on her or your age. You don't have to get her to talk to them, you can ask them for help and support yourself. It's different depending on where you live, but it's worth looking up, I've used the Aussie version a few times before. (There might be a long wait on hold tho, jsyk)

            That said, I'm not sure if it will. This poor girl is in a sea of grief and is this close to going under and drowning and it doesn't seem like she wants help of any kind.
            I feel like I should mention her name to you so that you can get more information that might help, but that feels like a bit of a betrayal. I don't know, I'm worried for her safety.

            That's definitely a rough situation to be in, for any of you. I feel like i should have a good answer, since I've been in therapy for a *long* time, but....
            
            Everyone has different needs and wants, so what might help *me* in that situation would likely be different to what she needs. 
            If you two are close in any way, just showing that you're there for her, and that you care, would probably help loads. Just as long as you understand that you are not responsible for her mental health and emotions. If you feel that way, that can (and probably will) hurt both of you. 
            Since I don't know the situation, I don't have a specific answer, but when someone's in that self-loathing spiral, knowing someone's there for them, who cares and won't judge, means a lot.
