Update to the handful of you sticking around: As I'm sure you can tell, it's been a VERY long time since I've updated this account. Despite me promising that the next chapter of Seven Mythic Days would be uploaded about two weeks later (which was my upload schedule back then), it has since been nearly three years. I'm not sure how many of you are actually aware of what's going on, but I figured I'd give a short update. The major thing that led to me halting Seven Mythic Days was a lack of ideas and experience in the genre. I was going for a more fantasy slice-of-life, but ultimately felt no desire to write it. There was an plot that would reveal that Emperor had amnesia and had forgotten their childhood together, hence why Prince would be so fixated on finding this wishing star and their strain in their relationship. Even so, I was having a difficult time capturing the vibe I wanted for the story, so I dropped it. Another issue was me falling out of the Splatoon fandom, especially Coroika. I wasn't laughing as hard at it as I used to, and like many others, I had come to find it repetitive and boring. While I did enjoy the Splat 2 Hero Mode arc and somewhat followed the Shadow arc, I ultimately fell out of it. I also got into MHA and Danganronpa, as well as getting back into Pokemon. I had some fanfic ideas, but I got too nervous to share them. I did attempt to bring this account back to life. I tried posting original stories, but I wasn't feeling the same "spark" with them as I did when I wrote fanfics. Not long after, I abandoned the account. So... now what? Well, I'm not too sure myself. Part of me wants to have a fresh start and continue writing fanfic on AO3, but I don't really want to be associated with some of its policies. I'm also still not too into Coroika, and I find this website to be slightly childish, in a way? Not to insult anyone here, of course, but I'd say I prefer the sleeker designs of other sites. I'd also consider Fanfiction.net, but that website is basically dead to my knowledge and a bit tricky to navigate. What I can say, though, is that this account is going to be dormant for a while. I'm sure that was already evident, but I feel better outright saying it. I don't want to declare it DEAD, per say - I really enjoyed my time here, and I may decide to come back at some point. Even so, there are quite a few things I wrote about that I'm no longer too fond of. I could have done Red Sole's mental illness WAY better in "Angel of Darkness", and I'm truly sorry I didn't portray her self-identity struggles as well as I could have. If I could rewrite AOD, I'd either use a different plot point as a reason for her becoming the Angel of Darkness, or improve its portrayal. There are other writing mistakes I made, too, but those I just cringe at. Still, I had tons of fun writing them, and it makes me happy to see people adding my books to their collections and voting on them. I may not come here as often, but I do appreciate it a ton! Heck, that goes for everyone that commented on my stories, voted on them, and requested me to write stuff. It made me so happy seeing a comment like that! All that said, here's the plan for now: 1. Mark my oneshots book as "complete", albeit with an edited disclaimer at the beginning of the book. 2. Keep SMD and other such works as "Ongoing", but marking them in the title with a big "DORMANT", as well as a disclaimer in the beginning that these stories are unfinished and likely won't be in the near future. I have a handful of unfinished chapters, but I'm not sure whether I will publish them. I will let you know. All that said, thank you guys so much for your support! Like I said, I had such a fun time here, and I may decide to come back someday. I know I wasn't the most popular Coroika fanfic writer, but that just made every positive comment all the more worthwhile. Sincerely, - Splatoonfan4life (And psst! My username still holds up!)
