(2/3) Now allow me to talk about "Partners in Crime", as I'm sure that is the reason most of you (if not all) are here for.
I remember replying to one of my readers, reassuring them that I have no intention of leaving this book unfinished. To this day, I stand by my word. "Partners in Crime" will be finished. I will write an ending to the story just as I planned all those years in making it.
However, recently, I have decided to rewrite the plot. For those of you who are already pleased with how the story is progressing, I assure you that some changes might be grand, but for the most part, the new story will resemble the old one. The only difference is that the new version will be significantly revised, in terms of being cleaner, more organized, and easier to follow along.
I came to this conclusion not too long ago, after rereading the older chapters and noticing that other than the current story appearing to have no clear motive (which was not my intention at all, yet, in the past, I was inexperienced with conveying my ideas into reality through writing. And so, it drowned in the midst of unstructured "plot"), my writing style has changed. As most of you are possibly aware, I started writing this book at the age of 16, still in high school. I am now 20 years old. Throughout the 4 years, I realized how much my techniques have changed. And while rereading the beginning chapters, I couldn't help but criticize my own writing.
Having seen how this book got the recognition I never even dared to dream it would- that, too, had a notable impact on my decision. After all, if there are people in this world who are taking the time out of their day to read my work, the least I could do is write something that is worthy of reading.
So with the new plot, I will try my absolute hardest to write it with a more mature outlook, improved writing, and practice I gained throughout the 4 years of being an amateur in the world of writing. There is still so much for me to learn:)
