I am a writer but it's your opinion whether I am a good one or not.(: No one is a perfect writer simply because there is always room for improvement while writing. 
Nicholas Sparks, John Green, and Isaac Marion are all exceptional writers and novelists, but they weren't perfect.
     I like rock.. and every other type of music. You can be a Metal Head or a Rock fan and still like pop. My suggestion is to not stay with one genre of music. You'll be a lot happier if you venture out a little into the world of music. I'm not saying that you can't like just one type of music, I'm just saying that it's okay. don't let any asshole tell you it isn't. 
     YOU CAN BE A METAL HEAD POP ROCKIN PENGIUN IF YOU WANT TO BE!!
