This is also one of the stories under the "On Heartbreaks and 3 AM Musings" series and something which is quite personal to me.
          
          My angsty college self blamed my inability to sleep well to the pain caused by the person I loved  but broke my heart. So, I put it into writing and it's been a thing ever since.
          
          But maybe it is true. Maybe when people leave they take parts of us and we take parts of them, which is why we're never the same person that we are after it ends - perhaps similar but never quite exactly the same.
          
          I guess we'll never know.
