If you guys are struggling with the heat, here’s a few things we’ve done in my home. Idk how well these will work but it’s just stuff that’s helped my mum and I who both struggle with the heat without needing to get anything expensive.
1• rinse off hair with cold water. If you have VERY LONG AND/OR THICK hair like myself, then it’s bound to be terrible. But I’ve used this to my advantage and made it wet under the shower and it’s become a temporary yet effective way of keeping my back/neck very cool! I personally keep my hair down when I do this so that it can make more of my back/neck cool, but it’s whatever works for you!
2• reusable ice packs or wet flannels/small towels to put on your skin. It’s super nice and cooling, even if only for a little bit. With a wet flannel/small towel, you can sometimes shake it a bit to keep it cool before needing to rinse it again.
3• get a clean/empty spray bottle and get some water in it. Spray your head/face/skin/wherever really and then use a handheld fan [I’ve used the folding ones, so idk if a mechanical one works well as well] and fan that area. Fanning the area with water will make it cool! It doesn’t last long though and it’s a bit of effort with a folding fan but it does help a bit for me.
4• i don’t know how much this one works but my EfL teacher opened two windows and pointed the fan outside of one and said that colder air would come through the other window. I personally haven’t tried this but I remember him doing this a few weeks back.
I hope these help- even if a little bit! It’s just what’s personally helped for me [mainly for when I’m at home, which is when it’s worse bc houses in England trap heat in] but feel free to share what’s also helped you as well!
