          I want to share something that recently happened to me so that none of you make the same mistake.
          
          I accidentally entered the wrong birth year on Wattpad, which made my account appear as 18+. A little while later, I received a message claiming that I needed to "verify" my account by using bank card details or it would be restricted.
          
          Since I'm a teenager, I genuinely thought, "Maybe this is because my account is showing as 18+, and adults have to verify themselves using bank details." Looking back, I realize that's exactly what the scammer wanted me to think.
          
          The message looked convincing because it used Wattpad's profile picture. But the username was completely different, and it contained a suspicious link asking for bank details.
          
          Thankfully, I didn't enter any banking information. I contacted the official Wattpad Support team, and they confirmed it was a phishing scam.
          
          So please remember:
          
          • Never enter your bank details because of a message claiming to be from Wattpad.
          • Always check the username or email address, not just the profile picture.
          • Don't trust links sent through random messages.
          • If you accidentally entered the wrong age or have any account issue, contact the official Wattpad Support team through the Help Center. Don't rely on messages from strangers.
          • If something feels suspicious, stop for a moment and verify it through official support before clicking anything.
          
          Scammers often create panic by saying things like "Your account will be restricted" or "Verify immediately." Don't let those messages rush you into making a decision.
          
          Please stay safe. I'd much rather you spend a few extra minutes checking if something is real than lose your account—or worse, your personal or financial information.
