I have just turned 60 and having written for corporates most of my life, I decided it was about time it was my turn. So, in memory of my mother-in-law who passed away from cancer in 2018, I'm writing a fiction novel based on aspects of her life and struggles. The novel tells the story of a proud & resourceful African woman trying to bring up her children in a society that treats her differently, because of the colour of her skin as well as her gender. Interweaved there is another story that involves her daughter and a young idealistic white boy, who questions such racial & gender prejudice. As he believes all human beings are born equal and our colour, gender, sexuality or disability is irrelevant in how we should be treated by society.
I live in a small village called Hedge End on the outskirts of Southampton. UK. I live with my wife Ana-Paula who along with Fatima her Mother are the two MC's in my WIP 'The African Accoutrement', which I aim to have completed by November 2019. I'm currently editing the first chapter and will post on Wattpad to get some valuable feedback shortly.
