The character of Batman was first introduced to the world in 1939. Through seven decades the Dark Knight has been portrayed, analyzed, and deconstructed in a thousand ways. I think it's time to take him back to the beginning.
The world of Batman 1939 is an original setting. It's a story about history - a sort of period piece for a time that never was. FDR sits in the White House, men wear hats to work, fascists march across Europe, and a city called Gotham is the engine of the world.
