          Some things I'd like to address are:
          
          'All Lives Matter:' The BLM movement isn't in place to invalidate the lives of other races, it's focusing on black lives because they are the lives at risk. If your house is on fire, you need to extinguish the fire. Everyone else's houses are equally important as your house, but their houses aren't on fire so they aren't the main concern right now.
          
          I'd like to add that some of the media is portraying the protests as violent when many of them I've seen on TikTok were peaceful. I'd like to point out the distinction between protesters and looters/raiders. Protesters are those who are protesting against injustice peacefully however looters/raiders are usually those taking advantage of the protests and using them for destructive or self-beneficiary means. The media can sometimes confused these two and from what I've seen, a lot of the time it has been police officers attacking peaceful protesters (which again brings up the issue of a corrupt system.)
          
          ACAB: I don't agree with the idea that ALL cops are bad. However, I agree with the general ACAB idea that good cops are being complicit with the bad cops and corrupt and racist system. This system allows people to abuse their power after only 6 months of training, most of which is used on gun training and not de-escalating situations. This allows cops to abuse their power on innocent people and get away with it.

          I am using my privilege as a white, Australian girl going to a private school to educate myself and others on this really important issue. Silence is violence and I will not be complicit while people are dying and being mistreated due to a prejudiced and corrupt system.
