I’ve had a lot of time away from Wattpad and for that, I’m sorry. Writing hasn’t been much of a focus for me at the moment— instead I’ve been expressing my love for reading again through my Instagram (StoriesOfSophh)
After lots of thought, I’m leaning more towards deleting my work from Wattpad and trying to better them offline, in a bid to try and regrow my love of writing. To be honest, I might delete my account in general.
It’s quite raw and difficult to post my work on here and have everyone see it and form an opinion, and sometimes they’re not nice ones. I completely expect that as an author you’re going to come across this often— but I’m not an author.
My books are not published ‘properly’ and most likely never will be. These are first drafts and sometimes I feel as though I’m expected to be perfect and I often can’t deal with the negativity when I literally just write in my spare time. It’s not a job. It’s a hobby. I’m not a professional and I never claimed to be. I feel like sometimes people expect too much from free content from someone who’s not a professional.
Now I know that’s not all of you. I’ve met some wonderful people on here and I’m forever grateful for those of you who have read my works and have supported me on this journey.
Sadly, I just think I have outgrown Wattpad and it upsets me to say that. Maybe one day I will come back, but for now I think it’s time to take a step back.
