I have been reading almost all my life, jumping from book series to book series.  My favorite topics were dragons, although I enjoyed many other topics as well. this last year, I read the entire cosmere for the first time, as well as the Lunar Chronicles and the Hunger Games, as well as some stand-alone novels, racking up around six million words read, the most I had ever done in a school year. I wrote my first book in second grade, a fanfiction of How to Train Your Dragon. Since then, I have tried (and failed!) to write multiple fanfictions, until I decided to move away from those and create brand-new ideas.
