          1.) Damon is Xander and he is trying to convince Eva that she is in love with him. 
          
          2.) Damon works for Xander and he is trying to convince Eva that she loves Xander. 
          
          Either way the end point is probably the same.

Basically, Life isn't a bed of roses and everyone knows that but we can make it better(ish) to live in. If we change our perspective, we can influence things around us and make it better. Not easy but better.
