I'm not obsessed with ghosts, though you could be forgiven for thinking that. I don't even know if I believe in them. But I think I probably do.
I grew up in England, which has the best ghosts. I'm pretty sure I saw one on my wedding night - you can read about that on my blog (www.suecopsey.com).
For a few years I worked in PR at London Zoo - at least two ghosts there - then became an editor at Dorling Kindersley Children's Books. The Covent Garden office where I worked was Jane Austen's London pad (no, I didn't meet her ghost - sadly). In 1995 I moved to NZ with my husband, and we soon had two children and a house rabbit. New Zealand's a gorgeous place, but not very spooky.
By day I am a sensible editor, polishing other people's books ... but by night I morph into a writer of ghost stories. My first full-length children's ghost story, The Ghosts of Young Nick's Head, was published in 2011. Its sequel, The Ghosts of Tarawera, received a Notable Book Award from the Storylines Children's Literature Trust of New Zealand. The third in the series, The Ghosts of Moonlight Creek, was published in 2016.
I also like to write spooky short stories, like this one here on Wattpad. Hope you enjoy it. (Might I suggest you leave the lights on?)
