I'd like for someone to read Lyra's Magnum Opus. The new chapter, 385, is exceptionally beautiful. It talks about nebulas and the afterlife. But, no one will ever get that far. I find people are scared of sad things. They immediately recoil when I tell them what Lyra is about. Yes, someone is actively dying in the book. It's about how people around that person and that person cope. But there are beautiful and profound things in that journey. I wonder why people don't want to read a series such as this. They recoil and immediately turn away. Do they think I won't be able to handle it the way it should be? That it will be a bad interpretation and that's offensive? Or is the subject so scary to the human condition that they can't even bear to read a word? Or maybe they want to read about the typical tropes you find on Wattpad, because that's easier and more consumable and plentiful.
