E. Helyn Rae is a BC-based author, artist, and storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of the dark, the beautiful, and the deeply human. Drawing on a background in Fine Arts and Psychology, she writes with the conviction that stories - like art - have the power to reach people in places nothing else can.

Her debut novel, The Colour of Gone,  is the culmination of over a decade of writing, world-building, and refusing to let a story go until it was ready. Known for prose that is as emotionally precise as it is atmospheric, she crafts characters who feel less like fiction and more like people you've already met - and narratives that stay with you long after the last page.

A proud dyslexic and lifelong lover of books, Helyn writes the kind of stories she needed to find as a reader: dark, honest, and achingly real. Her mission is simple - to create work that makes people feel less alone in whatever they're carrying.

When she isn't writing, she can be found curled up in British Columbia with a well-loved book, her Kitty, and a cup of warm tea.
