Callista was born on the island of Delos — not quietly, not gently, but in light.
The moment she cried, the sun brightened.
Not metaphorically. Not poetically. The sky itself shifted — as if something divine had turned its full attention toward a single fragile life.
Her mother, Aurelia, knew immediately what that meant. Children like that didn’t belong to the world for long.
Callista doesn’t hate Apollo.
That’s the problem.
She still remembers the warmth before the rejection. The pride in his voice. The way, for a brief moment, she felt chosen.
Now she lives with the quiet fear that he was right.
That she was never meant to exist this way. That her kindness is a flaw.
That her defiance is a mistake.

Callista returned to the mortal world with too much light and nowhere to put it.
She stopped trying to be divine.
Stopped trying to be anything at all.
Instead, she wandered.
City to city.
Face to face.
Helping where she could, leaving before anyone asked questions.
Healing strangers.
Losing them just as quickly.
She learned how to be temporary.
Apollo didn’t rage.
That would have been easier. Instead, he looked at her like something broken.
Not his daughter — not entirely. Just… a flaw in design.
He didn’t destroy her. He didn’t strip her power.
He did something worse.
He dismissed her.
Declared her unstable. Dangerous. Unfit for Delphi. Unfit for Olympus.
Her name was removed from records. Her existence quietly erased from divine conversation.
And just like that—
She was nothing.
