I have decided to prove to those of you who have finished the first book, This Beautiful Storm, that there will in fact be a second one. So I have made *A* chapter of the sequel, (not saying where in the book it is,) available as a preview here.

I was just thinking about how I logged into WPS writer, which I  have been using as a free user since I was basically a teenager, only to discover that the paywall was so aggressive it now no longer allows free users to even change basic things like font size or text orientation/paragraph indent direction/literally the bare minimum that Notepad does. 
          
          So I finally went and got myself LibreOffice like a real actual grownup, and I mean it's fine. It's great, even. 
          
          Maybe my nostalgia just associated the little red W icon with so many moments over the years that I reflexively look for it when I open my computer now, and I'm sad when I don't see it anymore.
          
          It got me through my first draft. And my second. And countless projects that will never EVER see the light of day (and don't ask because there are no exceptions.)
          
          So long, weird janky little writing gremlin. You were real.

Two quick announcements!
          
          1: Chapter 35 of This Beautiful Storm has been slightly changed/updated to reflect a new direction and the introduction of a new character who will continue into a supporting lead role in book 2.  Give it a glance and familiarize yourself with Mel: A girl who is completely out of her depth in the currents of fate that draw the other protagonists forwards.
          
          2: The first 5 people to leave a review after they finish reading will receive an advance preview of Our Darkened Stars! So if you're excited for #2, leave me some feedback on #1

The nanowrimo project has somewhat abruptly taken a backseat to a lightning strike of inspiration for book two in the Starcursed World Series.

My infant contribution to NaNoWriMo (rest in peace), is the beginnings of my first attempt at werewolves and vampires. It's not a kind of story I'm familiar with telling, and I'm going to write it a bit differently- i'll try to have it at least mostly done before DEC 1st.

Some edits, particularly to the final chapter (which should be exciting if you’ve already finished the book) are going to be coming up here soon, along with updates on my search for a publisher. 
          
          And perhaps a recipe for strudel. Tis the season, after all.
