@Love_Luna-09 Honestly? Yeah, it definitely changed the way I see my writing. I’ve realized I’m really, really into antiheroes — those characters who are obviously seen as the “bad guys,” but to me, they’re usually just misunderstood.
            
            Silas is different, though. He genuinely doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He’s kind of the person I see when I look at Hel, my writing partner. 😂 And I guess I realized I really love characters like that.
            
            It’s almost like they balance things out creatively in my head, you know? Like they’re the perfect counterbalance to all my morally questionable characters.

@SunriseDown That honestly makes the story feel even more meaningful. I really love how you turned something so personal into a message about embracing the parts that make us different. Silas feels like such a beautiful idea, and I hope you keep writing because you clearly have a really special way of bringing emotions into your stories. Did creating Silas change the way you see your own writing at all?

@Love_Luna-09 The story came about because of a depressive episode my writing partner was going through. She’s autistic, and sometimes her mood can go from 0 to 80 in a matter of seconds. She told me something that really stayed with me: “Sometimes I feel like a quilt made from pieces of uneven fabric.”
            So she drew a boy sitting in the doorway of his home, with skin in different shades, roughly stitched together. That’s how she expresses herself most of the time - through drawings.
            So I created Silas so that, through him, she could see that being made of uneven pieces isn’t a bad thing. It’s something different, and being different doesn’t mean being bad.
