Time for a change log for Pericynthion, Pt. 2.
I'm doing this because time has permitted me to do so, and in the process of re-firing up my writing muse I've gone through my earlier work with what I've learned over the past few years and make some changes to some things I've ultimately become unhappy with. I hope you'll find these edits and changes well. :)
5/20/19: Prologue - Eliminated. After some reflection and review I found that this did not do much to either establish or drive the story in any way. Since while it seemed to be a good idea at the time to include it, yet ultimately came off to be both superfluous and confusing, I decided to remove it entirely.
It was my desire in this change that while yes, this is a sequel to Pericynthion 1, the beginning of this work should also stand on its own while providing the minimum necessary exposition to get new readers up to speed.
Chapter 1-6: Restructured and refined. I (re)introduced too many characters at the time; many of whom have no or little bearing on the plot. Cut down on some of the purple prose and focused more on the characters themselves.
5/22/19: Chapters 9-28: Cut down on a great deal of aviation technobabble. I've learned that we do not need to know every single aching step the character needs to accomplish in order to operate an aircraft. They already know what they're doing. Special note for chapter 27: I, uh, toned down my main character's rather interesting hangups into something I believe is a little more believable.
At any rate, I'm proud of the changes I've made so far and am looking forward to both continuing to make good changes to this work and actually finishing this work up in the near future.
I would also like to affirm that I am very open to comments, critique, and feedback as I go through this process. Feel free to speak up! :)
Thanks for sticking around, everyone!
