First off, I like to read, a lot. The books I write is based either off my life or my friends life. Sometimes I might make our life's sound a little bit "better"! With those stories I update by chapter. 
If I'm writing a fan fiction I don't publish it till the whole book is complete. I know right? Why? 
I don't like to publish something and only have three parts of a fan fiction . I rather have the story complete and done. 
Also in fanfictions I DO NOT use names for the character. It will always be y/n
