It's been a long time since I last updated Wattpad. Real life got in the way of my writing, (and reading) but finally Chapter Two is up, together with an updated and most likely permanent title.

A sad day today. I am removing Dragon River from Wattpad as I want to put it on Kindle Unlimited, which means the book has to be exclusive to Amazon.
On the positive side I will be giving it away free in the Kindle store for Black Friday.
Also the first chapter (as opposed to just the prologue) of the Black Heat of the Emu is up. October and November have not been productive months for me.

After all the excitement of getting Dragon River published I spent a few days fixing a few minor errors in my second book 'The Cormorant on the Lightning Rod' and actually rather enjoyed the story. I'm not entirely sure Sir Brand is someone you'd want to leave your kids with, but that's Tyler's mum's problem.

I also made a start on the sequel to 'Cormorant'. Yes, we have a Prologue and the evil villain who the 'good' guys thought had met his demise in a freak airship accident (that Xavier had nothing to do with at all) has somehow survived.

A Minefield Full of Penguins is free on Kindle till Tuesday!

Also, I received the kid's paperback copies of Dragon River today. The cover looks awesome in real life, even better than I thought it would.

@TB-Carter, hey, congratulations! I've always wanted to see my book cover in real life. So glad you completed your story, and that you get to enjoy seeing the finished copy!

I haven't posted lately as I've been busy formatting The Dragon River Adventure so I could publish it on Kindle.
That now done I thought I'd cheekily post the first three chapters of A Minefield Full of Penguins to celebrate the book's third anniversary, to give you a bit of background on Xavier, and to whet your appetite for the free giveaway on Kindle that starts on Friday, not only this but it's sequel, A Cormorant of the Lightning Rod will be 99p (or 99c) at the same time.
This was also supposed to coincide with the Kindle release of Dragon River but it escaped from Kindle quarantine early and is now roaming wild in the lower reaches of the Kindle Sales charts preying on poor innocent self help books.

The 500 word synopsis has been written and The Dragon River Adventure is now entered in the Wattys.

TheBelleDame

In word count, not many. In plot - aaarrrrgggghhhhh! How long does actual submission take?

@TB-Carter “major points of action” applied EXTREMELY conservatively

@TheBelleDame And good luck to you, how far away are you from finishing?

The Dragon River Adventure is complete!

No doubt on a read through I'll find mistakes and areas that need a bit of tidying, but submissions for the Wattys close next week so I need to get the submission form done.

I just have one problem, what genre would you say my work is? Science Fiction or Fantasy?

TheBelleDame

Awesome! I’m still nowhere near done! I’ll be skidding in under the portcullis as it closes at this rate. Good luck, you definitely deserve to do well. I’d say fantasy but it does have a lot of sci fi. And I’m not finished reading yet so I don’t know what comes later on.

@TB-Carter, first off, congratulations! That is an enormous accomplishment. To answer your question, I will have to keep reading before I could tell the proper genre; Sometimes the best stories are a mixture of both.

The much delayed final installment of The Dragon River Adventure is finally posted.
All it needs now is a final edit and tidy up and it will be finished.

Thank you. This novel was not an easy one to write, real life got in the way a bit.

@TB-Carter, my sincerest congratulations! Saying you'll finish a novel is one thing, but completing one is a tremendous success. I wish you the best of luck with your story, and I hope your writing propers in the days to come!
