SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU HAVENT SEEN CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD YET, DONT READ THIS, I REPEAT, DO.NOT.READ.THIS!!!
I HAVE A THEORY. at the end of the movie, when Grindelwald is telling Credence that he is a Dumbledore, he picks up a strange looking bird and it turns into a phoenix. earlier in the film, we are told that a phoenix comes to a Dumbledore in need. however, after everything credence ahs been through, why would it come NOW?? my theory is a slight stretch, so don't criticize me for it: also earlier on, when Albus is looking into the Mirror of Erised, he sees himself and Grindelwald making a blood oath to never fight each other. as we all know, Dumbledore and Grindelwald were a thing *eyebrow waggle* when they were younger, so, WHAT IF: they got married in secret (which is why they made an oath to never fight one another), so, Grindelwald IS A DUMBLEDORE. this would explain why the phoenix emerged when Grindelwald picked it up. HE.NEEDED.IT. HE KNEW HE WOULDNT WIN, SO HE GOT CREDENCE. when he found out not even that would help, he took the bird, and it turned into a phoenix that would "save him". as I said, it's a stretch, don't judge, but please give me feedback.
