Good Day Gents. It's been almost 2 years and I have gone back to reading with my newfound interest. The first chapter of Smiles is almost 4.7k words which is pretty long but if you asked me, It would be longer if I included the more detailed events which I glossed over due to fear of being too long.
Tell me what ya think regarding to that.
Right Now, I am currently writing chapter 2. Yes, chapter 2 only, and will not publish it until I finish the whole damn book which I somehow am enjoying to write. Once the whole thing is finished. I will be publishing it on a weekly basis.
Here's a small teaser for chap 2.
||I still remember it, he was walking home from school. He just appeared out of the corner as in schedule. But instead of him looking at the woods or towards me as he usually does, he was looking at the ground. I can visibly see his eyes wide open as if he has just seen some malicious sin.
When he was close enough, I saw his hand shaking. They were gripping the straps of his bag with force, as if he was holding on to dear life. I can sense that he was afraid of something or saw something frightening rather. I thought at that time he probably just saw a bear. Bears are normal in these parts.
I called out to him. “Danny! Something wrong?” But he just nodded his head left to right and keep on walking. I was worried and confused. My grandson doesn’t hide secrets from me. And if he did, it must be something personal and he doesn’t want us to know about it. I respected his personal space, but I wished I could have gotten closer to him.
I later regretted it. ||
So I hope ya'll enjoy it.
