@Nat-The-Black-Cat I think that the films would have been absolutely fine on their own since they don't need to have a villain. They both already had a problem going on as soon as they were revealed to be the villains, so the two were not necessary. Though I wouldn't say that this twist villain is the best twist villain out of all time, but Yokai/Robert Callaghan in Big Hero 6 is an alright one. Though his change of character went from a peaceful, aspiring man to somebody who is aggressive, violent and thirsty to kill the one who caused his pain, I can at least appreciate the film directors to reveal him much earlier than the Frozen and Zootopia ones. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they are named Sordward and Shiedbert? The reason I don't like them besides their hairstyles is because they didn't exist and nobody knew who they were until they said "Hi lol were evil' which was absolutely not needed. For as much as I like the fact that they are at least trying something different, its already getting kinda tiring with these twist villain plots.
@TRocketsRaleigh Yeah, I feel like they just made Bellwether and Hans the villains at the last second because "we can't let it be a Disney movie is there is no villain". Sure, Ghetsis was revealed to be evil during the final moments of the main story, but it was done so well. As for Bellwether and Hans, there was nothing remotely suspicious about them that would make the viewers think about their true intentions. Disney could have at least done something like hint that Hans hates Elsa and Bellwether dislikes predators and her position before she became mayor. Hell, Frozen and Zootopia didn't even need a villain. I can say the same thing with Pixar's Coco, but at least its twist villain, Ernesto De la Cruz, is a good one because he had already succeeded in his plan. He is just sitting there enjoying his fame and glory while Hector is in the background suffering until Miguel came in. Anyhow, I wish they had a much more different villain. To me, they just copied Sun and Moon by having the "villainous" team not be the real villains and that there was another big bad behind the scenes. Also, I did not like the post game villains either (forgot their names like with the main story one). Their hairstyles are also one of the craziest ones I have ever seen on a human Pokémon character yet. I know I haven't seen a lot of the game yet, but still...ugh. I am really frustrated with these villains. I was REALLY hoping that we could have gotten some ones this generation!
@Nat-The-Black-Cat I feel bad when a said character gets blamed for an act they didn't do tbh. It sometimes feels like that character who did the blaming was the villain instead, but blamed someone else for it to hide their dirty deeds. Though that might not be the case, its still sad to watch I'll admit that he is since all he did was collect the stars needed for dynamax and awakened the third legendary. That's all he did. He even turned himself in (doesn't make me from hating his guts though). It feels like forever since we had our last outright villain in the franchise. Like you said, Bellwether and Hans weren't good twist villains since they were revealed to be the villain at the last few minutes of the film, as this one said evil awakening third legendary man right after the 7th gym
