Lately I've been getting question as to why my character's always have African or African American descent... Well I'd like to start off by saying that this is a very good question I do not in anyway feel uncomfortable by answering it. I'd also like to point out that I'm a big fan of reading, I read all the time and in the books I read I notice that the main character is always Caucasian (or the fair skinned, flowing haired, blue eyed character). Now there's nothing wrong with that but I'd like to see more African American main character's in books, I want them to be the one's to save the day, and get the guy/girl, and live exciting lives. In most books made with African American character's even Hispanic/ Latin character's I've seen that they are portrayed stereotypically and I find myself not liking those books and not wanting to read them and I'm pretty sure no one else would either, it's depressing (to me personally). So that's why I am actively trying to make African American, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, Caribbean, etc. the hero's of my stories.
