I am an English teacher and an author. My published works range from English grammar and Shakespearean texts to novels for mid-grade and young adults, through to non-fiction and historical fiction.

I love teaching and I have a love/hate relationship with my writer self: my fingers are too slow to type the stories in my head. I'm hoping one day someone will invent an app that allows me to plug into my brain and connect to the USB outlet so that I can download my novels.

My latest series is a trilogy called The Banquo's Son Trilogy and is set in 11th C Scotland 10 years after the reign of Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Book One was published by Penguin in 2009, Book Two was published in 2010 and Book Three is due for publication in 2013
