If ever there was a definition for the words "Paradise Lost", this would've been it. There is something strangely sinister about seeing your paradise torn to shreds by ravenous beings who smile wicked at you through the glass while punching holes through your heart.

"What do you say to a smiling reflection gone missing? A love lost through either an undue misfortune or a harrowing betrayal".

My first piece False Awakening was quite a success and I have all of you guys to thank for it! I was hesitant to post it as it was my first story and I wasn't sure how it would be recieved. First impressions count and I am aware that the story has some dark themes. That being said I am glad to say that it was recieved quite well. I got a lot of positive feedback from it! If you'd like, you can check out the explanation posted for False Awakening below as it offers some insight into the deeper meaning of the story. In the meantime I have more work coming out soon so stay tuned!

Alright so it seems like everybody is ready for an explanation for False Awakening. The short story describes a persons inability to awaken from a dream. The dream itself slowly begins to turn sinister, as the cycle of waking up in another dream continues. As this happens repeatedly, the dreamer loses touch with reality and eventually goes insane, giving in to the nightmares and losing hope of ever truly waking up. Although this story itself has a creepy atmosphere, it represents real life. My stories are always up to the interpretation of my readers. This story can be taken literally, or it can be translated into the real world. Waking up into a world turned sinister. Losing touch with others and living in what you perceive to be your own personal nightmare. In the end of False Awakening you're relieved to see that you're not in a loop of bad dreams. You're merely a helpless observer of the chaos surrounding you. The chaos inflicted upon those you love but cannot save.

False Awakening offers a preview for the rest of my work. Not all pieces will be so dark, however. I hope you guys enjoyed the short story and stick around for my next piece!

I just wanted to take a moment to truly thank everyone who has read my first story, "False Awakening". I appreciated everyones honest feedback. I wasn't sure how this piece would tide over as it is my very first, but I was relieved to see alot of positive feedback. For anyone who hasn't already read it, I encourage you all to give it a quick read. It is a relatively short piece, only around a page and a half long. Any feedback, positive or negative, is greatly appreciated. Thank you again. There will also be a follow up post soon to offer a little bit of an insight on the meaning of "False Awakening", though alot of it is up to the interpretation of the reader. There will be more on that soon!
