So, I don't know if there are adequate words for what has happened. I am heartbroken and terrified for the future for myself and a lot of people in my country. All I can say is that if you're feeling the same, it's okay. Those feelings are valid and you have every right to them.

I just want to say that I will be here. I will keep using my platform and my stories to advocate for those who are and who do and who will suffer. There is still value in your life and your journey on this planet and in this place.

It is hard. So hard right now to see any light or to feel any hope. I get it. I am struggling too. I've cried my tears, thinking about myself and my friends and all of my lovely readers who will be impacted by this. I want to be realistic. I have to be.
I won't lie to you. People are going to be hurt and there will be serious damage done to many communities because of this outcome.

But I want to say, I will give my heart to my stories. Art is so important in times like this. I'm not a warrior. I'm not a person with lots of skills or power or money. I am a writer. I know better than most how powerful words can be and how they can empower us.

Even if these worlds we create here are fictional. My words are real. My thoughts that create them and the messages I want to share and the joy I want to give and the healing I want to bring....those are real.

So, I guess what I'm saying is that I will keep fighting for what I believe in. I won't give into the defeat I'm currently feeling.

Please do what you need to do to be safe.
Keep living. Keep loving. Keep hope alive.

I love you. Your existence matters. If anything I hope these words will give you some strength today.
