Teague de La Plaine's vivid storytelling is based on diverse experiences as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Marines, a Merchant Marine captain, professional musician and songwriter, and a world adventurer: He was an intelligence and special operations officer in the Middle East, Africa, Caribbean, and Latin America. He drove ships that sent divers down to repair oil pipelines and platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. He was a signed recording artist producing records and performing in the U.S. and Europe. And he's adventured on his own in North Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

His stories are like a bridge over brackish waters. On one side stands the influence of spycraft and suspense: Fleming, Le Carré, Ludlum, and Marcinko. On the other, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror: Rice, King, Heinlein, and Lewis. His style is steeped in Kipling, Hemingway, and Tolkien. He aspires to be all of these and no of these. Like the ancient shinobi no mono, he seeks the form of no form: Mu--the Void.

When he isn't out saving the world all by himself or writing prolifically, Teague spends time with his incredible wife and two children on their sailboat cruising the Potomac and the Chesapeake Bay in preparation for their eventual desertion of society on the open seas.
