I'm back!
I can't believe it's been six+ months since I posted anything here. The break I took at the beginning of NaNoWriMo turned into a loooooong break. The truth is, I really needed a break, a chance to regroup, an opportunity to refocus. The school year with the kids was busier than normal and that impacted my spare time severely.
But, as it turns out, summer break for the kids start today. While I previously had to get up to prep them for school, now they sleep in and I can use my morning hours for other things. Yay for summer, I say!
With that, I have some work to wrap up. I hope to pick up on some loose ends before long. I'm actually excited to get back to a bit of writing.
Outside of writing, I've also gone back to my art. I've spent a considerable amount of time over the last five months on watercolor and gouache painting. I'll be creating a "book" of art here before long, just to share what I've been up to.
Writing is a great outlet for my creativity, painting is another, but it's also a place of relaxation. I can let the brush move across the paper and see what comes out. Time flies, unfortunately, but that's how it is when you're having fun, right?
Anyway, it's good to be back. I'll post further updates before long, including a short story I'm working on for a May challenge on here (sci-fi of course ;) ). Stay tuned!
