A little WIP snippet of the first chapter:
          	
          	A few bullets fly through the windshield, peppering the cop in front of her. Spider Scarlett scrambled behind a large trash can, hyperventilating under the pressure. The splash and thud sent a wave of blood, water, and dirt onto her legs. The officer's dying eyes rolled into the back of his head, deepening as they did..then they rotted out of his skull. As a matter of fact, the bullet holes she could spot all became an oozing source of sludge. Something of the ammunition was decaying his body from the inside. Dark crimson sludge pooled around the forehead, thickening even more. The fire escape ladder must've taken a hit since it came sliding down just a few feet above her head. Her heart jumped out of her chest.

Here's the prototype description of what the episodic story will be: 
          
          
          Set in a Cyberpunk sci-fi genre inspired universe, this story will follow Spider Scarlett and her adventures being a Netrunner. This particular story will not start off as an origin story. Although it will take place in her early running days. 
          
           The city is a metropolitan, neo-gothic neon playground where criminals and corpos dance chaotically in the heart of this place. A half digested populace in the belly of this world's beast. There have been many factions that have risen up and fallen within the city called "Arrow". 
          
          Spider Scarlett finds herself tangled up in a faction war between the Sun-Swallowers and the Gem-Boosters. It's lead to a bloody conflict in which all parties have felt the effects of. They are attempting to size territory in order to find a special object, killing innocents and thugs in the process. Spider will come across odd allies, lethal foes, tantalizing lovers on her journey...
          
          Get lost in the blinding lights, readers. Just don't get struck by an arrow on your way in.

Got that Cyberpunk episodic story coming along the way -- got a long 3rd shift tonight, with plenty of downtime to get immersed. Hopefully I can get the first chapter out soon. Can't wait to head on this journey with you all.
