I absolutely love the story. It is so good and so so sadd like my fav brother was Atticus but i had a hunch that she is just imagining him but still it was so sad when willow got to know about this.
But i dont get it, how did the brothers never caught on it, like Atticus was such an important part on her prospective , ik before austin and liam were usually absent but on the later parts they were there when she was struggling so much. It was clearly written that she was talking, smiling, crying, hugging with Atticus how did they not catch this or was all this just in her mind that she is doing all this with Atti but in reality she was just sitting idly, the most difficult to figure out are the hugging or crying on his chest part .
Author can you plz clarify this..
And also im so hooked with story. It is so good.

Thank u so much! Firstly, the book is a pretty open one, which means that a huge part of it relies on the reader’s interprestations! You can think or decipher however you want, but for me, Willow always imagined Atticus during her day to day tasks to feel less alone. She made no gestures suggesting she was talking to someone. For example: when she went to the field/park, she went without Atticus. However, she still daydreamed that he was there accompanying her. She didn’t anyone, or make any actions that suggested she was having an interaction with someone, she was just daydreaming or imagining things. This also applies to when Willow, Austin, and Liam were together. For example, in the car ride on the way to the police station, Willow was simply just fantasizing about the idea of Atticus still being alive. Again, she didn’t talk to anyone, she didn’t make any motions or signals to show that she was hallucinating his presence.
However, like I’ve mentioned before, you can interprate this book however you want! That’s just how I think of it.
