Hello There, Terry!
I know that I just dropped you a line about one of your stories, The Green New Deal, but you know that we corresponded back in 2019 when one of your completed works caught my eye.
That tale was Lucilla, and let me tell you, Terry, that one is a winner, a prize Wilbur of a Show Pig at the Iowa State Fair.
Lucilla has loads of potential: an appealing, sympathetic female hero who is a fish out of water. You succeed in melding two great, ever green genres: blood on the sand, debauched and rotting from within, Imperial Rome with the great epic 20th Century Cosmic battle of Good Vs. Evil that was the Second World War.
Lucilla sounds like an early Ken Follett thriller with time travel elements, magic, and some cool kick ass World War II spy adventure stuff, and Ancient Rome on top of that as well! There was also a solid historical, science fiction adventure in the late 1980s from the great Dean Koontz called Lightning that dealt with WW II and time travle.
Terry, If I was to offer you counsel, then I would go all in on Lucilla and polish this story to fine and high sheen.
If you would like to DM here on Wattpad then go ahead and do that, and I can offer you some free creative consulting tips and tidbits on Strategy and Tactics for sailing into the wonderful new world of publishing that isn't dependent on passing gate keepers, answering to editorial committees, and all the other horseshit that was the poor writer's burden to endure in the old business model that was New York City Big Publishing, Inc .
Take Care, Terry!
Best,
TC
