I saw this on Twitter and it really made me re-evaluate my perspective on this situation so I thought I would share.

I don’t like Chris Brown. He’s been cancelled. Trash. I don’t support domestic violence/abuse. Never have, never will. Sure, my distaste makes me see him as less of an artist and that could be considered wrong as his personal life is not necessarily the basis for his profession. It would be like going to the grocery store and you being able to see the history of your cashier. They are all clearly capable of pushing the right buttons and scanning items. But do you not go to the guy who was arrested during a home dispute?

Well think about it this way. If Larry Nassar, the man who was sentenced over 300 years in prison, created the music Chris did, had 87 Billboard hits, amazing choreography, talent, etc. Would you still listen?

Or do we draw the line after domestic violence?

We have established that nothing good Nassar has done can pale in comparison to the tragedy and abuse that happened with those girls. So why do we do what we do? Why do you value one’s mistakes over others? Is it just bad because there were more victims? Is it just bad because it was sexual? Because physical abuse that’s non-sexual STILL SHOULDN’T BE OKAY.

I hold no ill will or hatred to anyone who has chosen to stick with Chris Brown because you think he’s a changed man. I just ask that you think about it.

          Respectfully,
          Chef [Tyler] Boyardaddy
